Our nursing staff consists on our DON, 2 Case Managers, Registered Nurses, Licensed Practical Nurses, Trained Medication Aides and Certified Nursing Assistants.
Their objective is to help residents regain or maintain the ability to carry out the activities of daily living.
Treatment goals and expected rehabilitation potential are indicated by your physician at the time of admission. Specific restoration services, such as physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy are available here at the Traverse Care Center through Big Stone Therapies and are carried out under medical direction from your physician.
Rehabilitative nursing care is provided by our rehabilitation staff with the consultation of a Registered Physical Therapist. Such treatment include exercises for increasing strength, endurance, coordination and range of motion.
Other professional services available on a consultant basis include dental, psychiatry, and optometry.
Meals are prepared and served as prescribed by physician and planned by a dietitian.
Food preferences are honored, and alternatives are available.
There are three meals served daily:
7:30 – 9:30 Open Breakfast
12:00 Noon Meal
5:00 Supper
We also have snack at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm.
Visitors are welcome to eat with the residents at dinner or supper at a minimal charge.
A Social Worker is on staff to assist residents and families with problems or concerns that they may have. The Social Worker serves as a liaison between residents, family and staff.
Traverse Care Center’s Rehabilitation is the best resource to help you while you are recovering from an illness or injury. There is nothing more important than getting back to a normal routine. Our treatment focuses on a steady progression towards recovery goals.
Our clients work with Big Stone Therapies physical, occupational or speech therapists, and follow a treatment schedule that keeps them moving toward a full recovery, as quickly as possible. By utilizing our specifically trained staff and state of the art equipment, clients can work toward regaining their strength after surgery or illness, and get back to living.
Many of our residents return home and for those who need continued support may receive it through Pheasant Country Home Care.
In addition to offering traditional therapy, Traverse Care Center has a BEST Age program also.

The activity programs are designed to meet social, recreational, physical, intellectual and spiritual needs of each resident.
Activity staff evaluate functional levels of each resident and attempt to include them in all activities at their functional level.
Some of the activities include: card parties, bingo, pokeno, board games, horse shoes, bowling, van rides, baking sessions, current event sessions, romance reading group, men’s group, ladies craft club, dinner outings, community activities, weekly sing-a-long and church services, book mobile, happy hour, videos, seasonal parties, birthday parties, along with occasional theme days.
Private parties or community programs can be arranged through the Activity Director.
